“Cinemusico” – EVENT & TICKET SALES NOW CLOSED!!!
Proceeds of the event will benefit: TriMedia Film Festival and SpokesBUZZ, Fort Collins
In a financial climate that can be particularly challenging for arts and cultural organizations, a film depicting how a devoted community with a common vision comes together to champion a local music institution is a perfect fit for a shared fundraiser, said Dani Grant, SpokesBUZZ Fort Collins board president.
“Anderson Fair is one of the oldest folk and acoustic music venues in continuous operation in the United States, and it has survived because of the support of the artists and arts lovers that are passionate about it,” Grant said. “People who care come together to ensure its continued existence. What could be more appropriate than screening this movie to support two local nonprofits like SpokesBUZZ and the TriMedia Festival? We are so much more effective when we work together. This film – and this fundraiser – embody that very idea.” For more information about SpokesBUZZ, and to visit their website, please click here >>
New Belgium Brewing Company, a longtime supporter of local film and music, is sponsoring and hosting Cinemusico. Tickets to the event are $15 in advance, $20 at the door (if available – seating is limited), and include the film, food and all related festivities. A small silent auction will also support the two nonprofit organizations, and local filmmaker Tomas Herrera will debut a new music video he created for popular Fort Collins band Stella Luce.

Lyle Lovett, Lucinda Williams, Guy Clark, Vince Bell, and a who’s who of other Americana and Alt-Country Music greats tell the story of how a devoted community of artists, volunteers, and patrons transformed a politically subversive little neighborhood restaurant into a legendary American music institution. For 40 years, Houston’s folk and acoustic music venue, Anderson Fair Retail Restaurant, has fostered and nurtured some of America’s most important musical performers and songwriters. It has stubbornly bucked the odds and survived because of the dedication of a community of people with a common vision. Its struggle to survive in many ways mirrors the struggle of the individual artists. (99 mins.)
